Food, Clothing, & Limited Financial Assistance
EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE (EA)
Fayetteville Urban Ministry’s Emergency Assistance Program (EA) is our flagship initiative, born from humble beginnings in the basement of Hay Street United Methodist Church in 1974. What started as a small effort to help those in crisis has grown into a vital lifeline for families and individuals across Cumberland County. For 50 years, EA has been at the heart of our mission to provide hope, stability, and compassion to those facing life’s most difficult challenges.

Today, the Emergency Assistance Program offers a range of services, including a well-stocked food pantry, clothing closet, and financial assistance for rent, utilities, and other critical needs (dependent on the availability of funding).
We know that something as simple as a bag of groceries, a warm coat, or help with a utility bill can make a world of difference for someone in crisis. Our goal is not only to meet immediate needs but also to empower people to rebuild and move forward with dignity and hope.

None of this would be possible without the support of our generous community. We invite you to join us in making a difference by volunteering your time or donating to our cause.
